To provide food and shelter in a safe familial environment within North Simcoe that cares for those in physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual need. Read more here.


We have more than 200 active volunteers helping in the shelter, preparing meals, helping with renovations, fundraising, sitting on committees and getting to know our guests. Join our team today!

1988 - Start of the Out of the Cold movement.

2003- Simcoe County Alliance to End Homelessness decide to start Out of the Cold program in North Simcoe.

2004- Midland Out of the Cold first opens its doors.

2012 - Midland Out of the Cold becomes a year-round operation and changes it name to The Guesthouse.

2014- The Guesthouse Shelter starts receiving government funding to help support operations.

2016 - Renovations begin at the future location of The Guesthouse Shelter.
